These six life-sized trompe l'oeil murals are interspersed between actual classroom doors in the hallways of Westmere Elementary School in Guilderland, New York. Six hundred and seventy-four kindergarten through fifth grade students reviewed their social studies curriculum and selected a specific time and place in history from which to recreate each realistic doorway.

Principal Artist Jan-Marie Spanard and three very talented mural apprentices were in residence at the school for three months in the Spring of 2000 collaborating with the children and painting the murals.
